The CollegeCalcAI Scholarship: Official Rules
Effective date: September 27, 2026
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING OVER THE FREE METHOD OF ENTRY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW. The CollegeCalcAI Scholarship (the “Promotion”) is a sweepstakes sponsored by CollegeCalcAI(“Sponsor”). By participating you agree to these Official Rules, which are a binding agreement between you and Sponsor, and to the decisions of Sponsor, which are final on all matters relating to the Promotion. These rules supplement the CollegeCalcAI Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. In the product, entries are called “tickets”; the two words mean the same thing in these rules.
1. Promotion period
The current round is the Fall 2026 Scholarship. Entries may be earned from September 27, 2026 at 1:43 PM EDT until December 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST (the “Entry Period”). The drawing takes place on or about December 18, 2026 at 5:00 PM EST. Sponsor’s servers are the official clock. Sponsor may run additional rounds; each round is a separate sweepstakes with its own Entry Period, prize and drawing, and tickets do not carry over between rounds.
2. Eligibility
The Promotion is open to individuals who, at the time of entry:
- are legal residents of one of the fifty United States or the District of Columbia;
- are at least 13 years of age; entrants under 18 must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to these rules on the minor's behalf and must be available to complete the winner paperwork;
- are currently enrolled in high school or in a post-secondary program, or intend to enroll in an accredited post-secondary institution within three years; and
- have a CollegeCalcAI account registered to a valid email address that they control.
Employees, officers, contractors and agents of Sponsor, its affiliates, and its advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their spouses) and household members of each, are not eligible. Accounts flagged as internal or test accounts are excluded from the drawing. The Promotion is void in Puerto Rico, U.S. territories, outside the United States and wherever prohibited or restricted by law. Rhode Island residents: if you have a question about whether this Promotion is offered in your state, contact Sponsor before entering.
3. How to enter: the free method
Online free entry. Create a free CollegeCalcAI account (no card, no purchase) at collegecalcai.com/scholarships. Creating the account earns 1 entry; running the free acceptance calculator for any school earns 2 entries; calculating five different schools earns 3 entries. The 5-entry Advanced trial is also free: no charge is made unless the entrant keeps the plan past the trial period, and it can be cancelled from the account page at any time before then.
Mail-in free entry. Hand-print your full name, the email address on your CollegeCalcAI account, your mailing address, your date of birth, your school or intended college, and the words “CollegeCalcAI Scholarship (Fall 2026 Scholarship)” on a 3″ x 5″ card and mail it in a hand-addressed, stamped envelope to: CollegeCalcAI, Scholarship Entry, 2062 Eaton Road, Charlotte, NC 28205. Each card received during the Entry Period (postmarked no later than the close and received within seven days after) earns 100 entries, the same number as the largest subscription award. One card per envelope; there is no limit on the number of mail-in entries. Mechanically reproduced, illegible, incomplete or late entries are void. Mail-in entries are credited to the CollegeCalcAI account matching the email on the card; if none exists, Sponsor will create a free account for that email so the entries can be recorded.
Entries obtained by either free method are equal in every respect to entries earned any other way, and no method of entry gives a purchaser an advantage over a free entrant.
4. Other ways to earn entries
During the Entry Period, entries are also credited automatically to an eligible account for the following actions. Each action is credited once per account per round unless marked repeatable.
- Create a free account: 1 entry.
- Calculate your first school: 2 entries.
- Build a list of 5 schools: 3 entries.
- Start the Advanced trial: 5 entries.
- Subscribe to Advanced: 25 entries.
- Subscribe to Extreme: 50 entries.
- Go annual on Advanced: 75 entries.
- Go annual on Extreme: 100 entries.
- A friend creates an account: 1 entry per friend (repeatable), up to 100 referred accounts per round.
- A friend starts a trial: 5 entries per friend (repeatable).
- A friend subscribes: 10 entries per friend (repeatable).
- Join through a friend's link: 1 entry.
- Mail-in entry: 100 entries per postcard (repeatable).
Claiming. Entries earned through the actions above are recorded to the entrant’s account immediately but are held as “unclaimed” until the entrant visits collegecalcai.com/scholarships and selects “Claim” while signed in. Only claimed entries are included in the drawing. Entries not claimed before the close of the Entry Period are void. Mail-in entries are claimed by Sponsor on the entrant’s behalf when credited.
Subscription-related entries are credited when a subscription becomes active or a trial begins, as recorded by Sponsor’s payment processor, and are not affected by later cancellation. Subscription entries do not represent the purchase of a chance to win: the same or a greater number of entries is available free under Section 3. Sponsor may, at its discretion and with notice on the Promotion page, run limited windows in which stated actions earn a multiple of their usual entries; during any such window, mail-in entries received are credited at the same multiple.
Referrals. A referred account counts only when a new, eligible person creates an account through the referrer’s link and the account is not later found to be duplicate, fraudulent, automated or created by the referrer. Self-referral, paid or incentivized sign-ups by people who do not intend to use the service, purchased traffic, and bot activity are prohibited and result in removal of the associated entries and may result in disqualification of every account involved. Referral links carry a disclosure that the referrer earns entries; you agree to keep that disclosure when sharing.
5. The prize
One (1) Grand Prize per round: a scholarship award equal to the prize pot at the close of the Entry Period. The pot begins at $500 and increases by 50% of each consumer subscription payment Sponsor receives during the Entry Period, net of refunds, up to a maximum of $5,000. The live amount is displayed on the Promotion page and is the amount awarded, except that the award can never be less than $500. Approximate retail value: the displayed amount. Total prize value for the round will not exceed $5,000.
The award is paid by Sponsor directly to the bursar or financial aid office of the accredited post-secondary institution the winner attends or will attend, for tuition, fees, books or required supplies, within 30 days of Sponsor receiving the institution’s payment details. If the winner is not enrolled within twelve months of the drawing, or the institution declines the payment, Sponsor will pay the award to the winner (or to the parent or guardian of a minor winner) by check. The prize is not transferable, and no substitution is permitted except by Sponsor, which may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the stated prize becomes unavailable. Any taxes on the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner; Sponsor will issue tax documentation where required by law.
6. The drawing and odds
On or about the drawing date, Sponsor will select one winning entry at random from all eligible entries in the round. Each entry is one chance. Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received in the round.
The drawing uses a published commit-and-reveal method: before the Entry Period opens, Sponsor generates a secret random seed and publishes its SHA-256 hash on the Promotion page. At the drawing, Sponsor publishes the seed; the winning entry number is HMAC-SHA256(seed, “round-slug:total-entries”) modulo the total number of eligible entries, counted in the order entries were recorded. Anyone may verify that the seed matches the published hash and recompute the result. Sponsor’s recorded ledger of entries is final.
7. Winner notification and verification
The potential winner will be notified by email at the address on their account within five days of the drawing and must respond within seven days of the notice, and, within fourteen days of the notice, complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability Release and, where lawful, a Publicity Release (a parent or guardian must sign for a minor), plus proof of identity and, when available, proof of enrollment or admission. If a potential winner cannot be contacted, does not respond in time, declines the prize, or is found ineligible or in violation of these rules, the prize is forfeited and an alternate winner is selected by the same method from the remaining eligible entries. Up to three alternates may be drawn, after which the prize may go unawarded.
8. Conduct, integrity and disqualification
Sponsor may disqualify any person and remove their entries for: creating more than one account; using false information; tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Promotion; using scripts, bots or other automated means; violating the Terms of Service; harassing other participants; or any conduct Sponsor reasonably believes is fraudulent or unfair. Chargebacks or payment disputes on a subscription remove the entries that subscription earned. Sponsor’s determination is final. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the Promotion may violate criminal and civil law, and Sponsor reserves the right to seek damages to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Publicity and privacy
Except where prohibited, acceptance of the prize constitutes the winner’s consent to Sponsor’s use of their first name, last initial, city and state, school, and likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation. Information collected in connection with the Promotion is used to run the Promotion and as described in the Privacy Policy. Leaderboards display a shortened name only.
10. General conditions and release
By entering, participants release and hold harmless Sponsor, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees and agents from any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Promotion or receipt, use or misuse of the prize, to the extent permitted by law. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, misdirected, incomplete or illegible entries; for technical, hardware, software, network or email failures; or for errors in the administration of the Promotion or the processing of entries. If the Promotion cannot run as planned for any reason beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control, Sponsor may modify, suspend or end the round and, if ended, award the prize from eligible entries received before the action was taken. The Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.
The Promotion is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict of law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled as set out in the Terms of Service. If any provision of these rules is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
11. Winners list and sponsor
